A heart for the nations
At St John’s we have ‘a heart for the nations’ and want to see many people follow God’s calling on their lives and spreading His love through mission. We are committed to supporting our mission partners, both at home and abroad, through prayer, finance and other practical ways.
One of the many things that Global Partner Support aims to facilitate is ‘resourcing mission to reach the world’.
Long term mission
We support around 25 long term missionaries, working both overseas and in the UK. You can find out the latest updates from our long term mission partners, which we regularly post on our blog (St John’s Stories). If you are considering a long term mission project and are seeking support, please contact Jane Butcher on vocations@stjohnsharborne.org, who can arrange a meeting to help discern how we could support you further.
Short term mission
Whether it’s a gap year, summer project, or something more unique, we are committed to supporting short term mission. A short term mission is anything from a few weeks to months, based in the UK or abroad and with a Christian focus. Even if your plans are yet to be decided, please feel free to get in touch, as we have a team of mentors who can help advise or pray through any decisions with you. Contact Nathan and Jenny Burden on shorttermers@stjohnsharborne.org if you have any questions, or would like more information.

Current mission partners
Nick and Cristina Hoult
Southgate Family Church | Birmingham
Southgate Family Church was started over 13 years ago with a heart to see the lost saved, the broken healed and the Kingdom of God established in homes on one of the most deprived estates in the country. The church’s mission is to see kingdom adoption into the biggest family on earth, with prayer/worship, bible study and fellowship as the regular rhythm of life through the week.
Sarah Gough
Chaplaincy in General Practice
St John’s has had an important role in enabling Chaplaincy to begin being available in General Practice in the UK. GP Chaplains have a unique opportunity to draw alongside people in need, to demonstrate Jesus’ love, compassion and acceptance, to pray for and, when appropriate, to help connect them to places where they can develop their own faith. Sarah works to develop this provision through her role as a manager of two charities: Association of Chaplaincy in General Practice (ACGP), which provides training, accreditation and support for those involved with GP Chaplaincy, and WholeCare, which employs chaplains and partners them with GP practices.

Give
The financial support for our Global Partners comes entirely from the regular giving of our congregation. If you would like to support by giving financially, head to our giving page where you can find details about ways to give.
Pray
All of the work our mission partners do couldn’t happen without prayer! To pray for our mission partners please check individual details and check out the latest mission partner updates on our blog.
