1000 prayers written!
'Pause' prayer event took place last week and first of all an enormous shout out to everyone who made it happen - planning, making, loaning and moving props, building the exhibition, making cakes, volunteering during the event and helping with set down. The fabulous (and big!) set down team dismantled the exhibition, moved all the props, cleaned and set out church for the next day in an amazing 1 hour and 12 minutes!
Despite the awful weather on Friday and Saturday, the hours and hours of heavy rain, we think we had between 200 and 300 visitors. We loved the fact that Pause ran for about 1000 minutes and as well as the prayers said and thoughts taken away, there were around 1000 written prayers made during the event. A prayer for every minute.
We've had great feedback so far, including lots of requests for more 'Pause'. Thanks to everyone who's got in touch, and if you have any observations or comments we'd love to hear from you. Especially precious was feedback from visitors outside the church such as someone who said "how much we enjoyed the exhibition, it was really thought provoking and gave time for reflection".
