This Day

Bless this day and bless my work I pray

Take each phone call and make it hallowed

A holy conversation touched by your Spirit’s breath

Sending truth, joy, peace

Words that return not void but accomplish your desire and purpose

Watering the earth of souls, producing seed, bringing growth and fruit

Bless this day and bless my work I pray

Take each keyboard stroke

And form words that are transforming

Construct words that build up

May the words be wise

Coming only from the very heart

Of the One who brings life from nought

Bless this day and bless my work I pray

Spirit of God create in me a creativity

Birth thoughts and ideas

Then blow on them and form them

Into gold –

Treasure that will enrich

Into light –

To dawn on darkened minds

Into fire –

To spark and roar in someone’s self

Bless this day

And bless me to be a blessing to others
