When it just clicks!
I bet you switched something on this morning: a light, a kettle, the tv? Perhaps you took a moment to thank God for the comfort of it? I find it helps me to daily realise his goodness when I thank him for the little things. And it’s the little things that are often so important. Take our children for example. They are super energetic, incredibly creative and have a thirst for knowledge that is staggering and like me, I am sure that you want them to grow up knowing they are loved, valued and important. As Christian parents, we are only too aware that the message the world feeds to our children and youth is often the direct opposite of what the bible teaches and God says, yet it can be a challenge to get them to listen to us when we want to talk to them about him.
One thing that ‘just clicked’ for me, was the Parenting for Faith course that Jen and I attended last year. It was like a light had been switched on, revealing simple, yet incredibly powerful ways of helping us to not just teach about God, but to connect our children to him. If you have children, or interact with children in some meaningful way during your week, then I encourage you to sign up for the next course. Yes, it is a sacrifice. We had to give up time and energy to attend. However, I can honestly say that it is the single most helpful course that I have been on (or am aware of) and has given us so many helpful ways of bringing God into the everyday. I would be delighted to chat to anyone who is considering this course to give more details. Today, let us all be thankful for something that clicks, and the fact that our heavenly father is interested in the little things.
Our next Parenting for Faith course starts on Wed 27 Feb 2019.
