Unprecedented Demand for Debt Advice

CAP-Logo.jpg

CAP (Christian Against Poverty) have advised us that, because of unprecedented demand for their debt advice service, they have been forced to refuse all requests for help for the next three months. We get occasional referrals from CAP to our Debt Advice service at The Crossway but we can now anticipate a significant increase. We already urgently need more Debt Advice Assistants to support the current workload but obviously we will need even more.

At a recent meeting Bill saw a very distressed single mum with two young children facing eviction because of rent arrears. We were able to reassure her that there would be a solution and asked if she would like us to pray with her - her answer was “Oh yes please”.
