God's Perfect Timing
You know what they say about God’s perfect timing? Well, after months, if not years, of seeking God’s will for my life, He led me to Agapé UK just a few months before lockdown. I was therefore able to find my feet in my role as PA to the UK director/HR Administrator based in the Birmingham HQ and have a crash course in IT (not my forte!) before we were sent home.
I work with the Central team supporting Agapé UK’s ministry, and have recently started writing articles for our new website (agape.org.uk). Within HR I focus in particular on responding to enquiries and arranging/participating in interviews, alongside ensuring new staff are set up on our systems, whilst my PA role sees me managing the emails and diary of the UK director, and supporting the leadership team as they seek to carry out their 5-year plan. Agapé’s passion is to reach the 97% of the UK who don’t know Jesus. Our vision is over the next 5 years to partner with 1,000 churches to equip and send out 50,000 believers to help the people in their communities to discover Jesus.
As secretary to the Council of Management, I am also responsible for organising Council meetings. Please pray for us as a ministry as we roll out the 5-year plan, in particular as we try to take advantage of the new digital opportunities which this new era has created. I’d really value prayers too for the Central team as we are unsure of our return to the Birmingham HQ and that our new Director of Central Services would be able to help us to stay connected as a team working remotely.
For me personally, while I love my work and am grateful to know such a caring and inspiring group of people, I do find it hard to juggle the two roles and to feel that I am doing a good job in both, so please do pray for wisdom for how to work most effectively and not feel overwhelmed. I’d also appreciate your prayers for me not to feel isolated as I continue to work from home. I’m so grateful for your support- thank you St Johns!
