Another Significant Change

This time last year, Jo was facing a period of significant change. Having served with Christian Vocations and Global Connections for 18 years, her ministry there came to an end. As a result, and after much prayer and seeking the Lord, Jo was led to take a step of faith. SERVE7 was born, and for almost a year now, as a freelance mission worker, Jo’s ministry has offered support to organisations in seven key ministry areas. Her work over this past year has served organisations working locally, nationally, and globally, in projects ranging from project management and governance support, to writing and proofreading. She is grateful to God for the opportunities to serve so far.

One year on, Jo and Mark are facing another significant change. After prayerful consideration, they have taken the difficult decision to relocate to North Yorkshire. This may seem sudden and quite drastic, and in many ways, it is, but, over the last few months it has become clear to them that they need to be closer to Mark’s parents who are both battling health issues and Mark and Jo can’t support them living a four-hour drive away. They will both be able to continue their work from home, so SERVE7 and Mark’s work should remain unaffected.

Give thanks:

  • For the way in which SERVE7 has been able to make an impact in its first year.

  • For the Lord’s leading so far regarding their proposed move to North Yorkshire.

  • That the process and selling and buying has happened quickly so far.

Please pray:

  • That the Lord would continue to open up new opportunities for SERVE7 to serve His mission in new ways as some projects will come to an end soon.

  • That the legalities and logistics of the moving process would go well and in the Lord’s timing. and that the Lord would prepare the way for Jo and Mark to serve the church and community in their new location.

  • That they will have wisdom in managing this transition, not least handing over certain ministries, including City Pastors, which Mark and Jo have led for over 10 years.
