Resurrection Church - The Door is Open!
Resurrection Church continues to make disciples which is our greatest mission. Through its 44 congregational (we call them spiritual tribes) meetings each week that happen in 13 different locations across Lebanon, and that are led by 38 tribe pastors, the church strives to reach everyone for the Gospel. The services are done in Arabic, Kurdish and Armenian languages. Since most pastors are indigenous leaders who are taught and mentored biweekly by our senior pastor Hikmat, each spiritual congregation is very unique and diverse in terms of worship style, music and studying the Bible together. Christ unites us all and we are seeing many people turning to the Lord, getting baptized and surrendering their lives fully to Christ
Resurrection Church is also reaching people across its borders, serving its brothers and sisters in Syria and other MENA region countries. Online ministry has expanded which is a great way for people to be part of the community even remotely.
We praise the Lord for this great opportunity to serve in Lebanon which is experiencing its hardest economic crisis in the history. Most educated and rich people have left the country for a better life elsewhere. There is a real brain drain. However, we are certain that God is still calling us to continue to trust Him, to continue to press forward and do the work He has entrusted us with.
Last autumn, the church drafted a 5 year vision which consists of 7 pillars: (1) Leadership development, (2) Individual and family discipleship, (3) Online discipleship, (4) Spiritual tribes and Church planting, (5) Community services and centers, (6) Worship and Music development, (7) Management and Communication development.
Please pray that we are all aligned and walking together in our vision for this year, which is focused on intimacy and what it means to care for and shepherd one another in Christ. People are invited to get closer to God, and get closer to each other. The motto is: The door is open. Pastor Hikmat is encouraging everyone in the congregation to take a step forward and spend intentional time with each other, invite each other over, and serve together.
Please pray for the younger generation as we focus on coaching and equipping them to be disciples of Christ and empowering them to do the same.
Please pray for the new opportunities we are seeing (specially with the people of influence and power in the country), so that we might be the light and the salt of Lebanon and have an impact on a national level.
And finally, pray for our country Lebanon which is passing through its hardest times in history.
