Rest in God

How often do you re-charge your phone and gadgets?  Our Spiritual lives may need attention too.  Jesus knew it when he bid his disciples “Come apart and rest” (Mark 6:31)

Rest in God is just such an opportunity.  Our part is to choose to set an hour aside to be quiet in God`s presence and allow Him to tenderly speak to us.  We welcome the Holy Spirit to aid our encounter for ourselves, the group and the church.

A result of spending time with God is that He releases His power through us as we dwell in intimacy with Him. The outworking of His presence through soaking prayer increases our effectiveness in co-operating with Him and seeing signs of the Kingdom as we go about our daily lives.

To set the scene, each month there will be a theme that is conveyed through a revolving set of photographs and Bible verses.  As participants view them, we pray to be open to what God draws us to stay with.  Let Him speak to us.  After a period, participants will be given the opportunity to share openly what they sense God was saying to them.  There is no compulsion to share if it is personal, but we often find that sharing together affirms what God has been saying.

As we seek to be followers of Christ, intimacy with Father God is vital.  As we soak in the presence of the Lord, sometimes He will fill us with His love, so we respond with a heart of love. Other times He heals a deep wound. On another occasion, He may empower us for ministry, or reveal a new calling.  We may find new freedom, healing, renewed peace, and joy. Such encounters heighten our recognition of God`s whisper in our lives.

Why not come and join us?  All are welcome. We meet at 2pm on the first Tuesday of the month at church.  If you have any queries contact : healingprayercentre@stjohnsharborne.org
