A Little Carnival Blog and Thank You - Nathan Burden

What a great day! The Harborne Carnival 2024 was another wonderful time of serving our local community and all who passed by. Thank you to all who volunteered in some way to ensure the day passed by safely and with such a sense of the Lord's presence. There was a real sense of fun and joy outside and inside our building as we served any and all who needed it. 

So many people were grateful for the free activities and opportunity to have some refreshment for free or an appropriate donation. It is looking like we will be able to send about £300 to the foodbank from the donations received on the day, let's give thanks for this and pray that the Lord would multiply it to meet the needs of those in desperate need.

Throughout the day many volunteers reported significant conversations with people about who we are and what we do. Some even took away bibles and enquired about our services. Some of the prophetic artwork particularly spoke to passers by and the team had some lovely conversations. We pray that the Lord would continue to speak into the lives he touched.

As always though, the highlight was seeing the community of St John's serve together in so many different ways. It takes a lot of effort, but it is so worth it to see new friendships develop through our serving together.
